Willowbrook Wildlife Center
Willowbrook Wildlife Center is a rehabilitation facility that provides care and medical treatment for injured and orphaned animals that are native to northeastern Illinois. As an education center, Willowbrook also serves as a resource for understanding the natural world and provides learning experiences for DuPage County residents to help them live in harmony with diverse, healthy wildlife populations.
The center opened in 1952 as Willowbrook Wildlife Haven, a rehabilitation center and refuge operated by individuals concerned about the welfare of wild animals. In 1956, Willowbrook Forest Preserve was deeded to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. In 1981, after almost 30 years of operation, the facility was renamed Willowbrook Wildlife Center. At that time, an education and treatment center and an outdoor exhibit area were constructed.
Location
The entrance is located on the east side of Park Boulevard at Fawell Boulevard (formerly 22nd Street), across from the College of DuPage. It is approximately one mile north of Butterfield Road (Route 56).

Wildlife Prairie State Park
Wildlife Prairie is proud to host most of the native mammal species that once called Illinois home. Their enclosures were designed with their nature habitats in mind. From the 86 acre pasture of the extirpated bison and elk to the more rare in the wild species such as cougars and river otters, to the threatened black bears or our eastern timber wolf pack, you're sure to see something that touches your inner self. We even have some of the more common species such as coyotes and red foxes. And our pioneer farmstead allows petting of goats and the like.
Henson Robinson ZooIn the spring of 2007, the Henson Robinson Zoo received two baby bobcats. Initially, the zoo was to be a temporary holding facility until a permanent home was found for the pair. In the ensuing weeks & months, zoo staff and visitors alike vocalized a desire to keep the bobcats at the Henson Robinson Zoo. By sponsoring the bobcats, you can make this possible as we prepare to build a new exhibit.
Contact the zoo at (217)753-6217 for more information on sponsoring the bobcats.
